Striving

Striving

Living in hopes of loving You
the way You deserve to be
in my heart I desire it true
for You made me to be free
each day I strive to make it so
each day I falter in this choice
yet forgiveness to me You billow
Your praises I sing with my voice
Your love abounds upon this soul
lifting it up, through, and beyond
each and every emotional shadow
and upon this heart grace is dawned
You loving me and me loving You
each day this is my purpose to be
each day I will strive to make it true
for all that You do and give to me.

Caught In The Twilight

Caught In The Twilight

A stream of emotions
caught in the twilight
of day and night
a whirlwind of thoughts
swarming in my mind’s tempest
caught in a bottomless vortex
churning in the pit of my heart
becoming complicated and complex
not able to set wise and foolish apart
I release this vortex unto heaven
allowing God to remove its leaven
knowing all will be well
in the morn’s new mercies
and once again this will compel
my heart to breathe…heaven’s calming breeze.

The Purpose?

The Purpose?

A bit of wisdom gained on my journey’s path with God.

Waiting…
Who am I waiting for?
What am I waiting for?
Why am I waiting?

The purpose?
~ No choice ~
We have to wait on people;
doctors, lawyers, pastors, teachers, bosses,
friends, family, etc…

We have to wait for things;
test results, car repairs, public transportation,
signal lights, grocery store lines, paychecks,
births, deaths from illnesses, etc…

We have to wait for solutions;
answers to prayers, treatment for illnesses, recovery,
weight loss, soul healing (mental, emotional, spiritual),
all in God’s perfect timing…

The purpose?
~ To teach patience ~
a lovely virtue
and a sweet fruit…

Why?
Patience takes the time to:
love
and be kind
*
be quick to listen
and slow to speak
*
pray for another
and judge not
*
think of another first
and serve willingly
*
thank God
and smile.

Waiting…
The purpose?
